Many of us have been hearing about and talking about the Swine Flu ‘Pandemic’ over the past few months. Is it a real threat or is it merely a hoax?

The media has scared us all quite a bit, but do you know even one person who has died from this Swine Flu?

Consider this; every winter over 36,000 people die of the regular ‘winter flu’ in the U.S.alone. Currently, only 144 deaths have been recorded from the ‘Swine flu’ world-wide. The fear-mongers are out in mass on this one though. You would think that those numbers are clearly reversed, and even worse.

History often repeats itself: In this 1979 episode of 60 Minutes below, Mike Wallace talks to President Ford and others about the Swine Flu vaccine of 1976. Note the admitted lack of safety and informed consent, even as TV ads frightened American citizens into getting a shot. Do you think anything has changed today?

Lies can take us captive even with our health. Do you trust the current U.S. government, CDC, or WHO? Is it pure science or pure politics? You have to look to the heart of the matter. HUGE pharmaceutical profit gains will be seen through this if vaccinations are given.

There will not be much time before the vaccinations are mandatory in schools. By many accounts, it looks like it could be required by the fall of 2009…see Fall swine flu: Obama urges vigilance, not panic. Parents will have to take clear and intentional steps of action to keep their children from receiving this potentially pathogenic vaccination. In many states, parents may have to cite ‘religous reasons’ or other ‘cultural reasons’ for their child to be exempt from receiving this vaccination. Please see the website of the National Vaccine Information Center for more information. As in 1976, people may experience more health risks from the vaccination than from the actual Swine Flu.

To lighten the mood a little, but to clearly make our point, take a look at this clip. . .

In my next posting, I will share 4 simple steps to boost your immune system, health, and protect yourself from any type of Flu, including the Swine Flu.

Feel empowered, not hopeless.

Pressing on Toward the Goal.

Press on Toward the Goal.

Lets suppose that you are going to drive from Raleigh, NC to Hollywood, CA and were only going to drive at night. The trip would be a total of 2,557 miles and take a driving time of 38 hours. When you get into your car in Raleigh and turn your headlights on you can only see 100 feet ahead of you. This leaves you with 13,606,460 feet you have yet to see and drive before you get to your destination in Hollywood. You turn on the navigation system and start your journey. You can’t see Hollywood from Raleigh but know that you will get there. All you see are those 100 feet that your headlights shine, but you keep on course. You would never find your way without the course the navigation system charts out for you in your travels. You never doubt it, always trust it, and know that you will get to Hollywood.

Now lets suppose you are getting ready to start making changes to develop a healthier lifestyle. You want to start eating healthy and exercising more regularly so that you can better care for your body. You have a long way to go and can’t really see the light at the end of the tunnel, but do you need to? All you need to see is each little step that you take. Don’t overwhelm yourself with the distance of your journey. Only focus on those 100 feet that you can see. Do your best each day by making healthier choices and being more active for that day. If you continue to move those 100 feet at a time you will soon find yourself where you were not able to see before. That’s called faith! “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1.

I know you may be thinking that making changes is not easy and can be a little daunting, but remember that you are not alone. You have been given a chance to have your own personal navigation system that guides you in life. God created each one of us to have a love relationship with him. God showed his love for us through his Son, Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16.  Understand that God wants what is best for you because he loves you and will help you through all things, even in developing a healthier lifestyle. Besides, as believers in Christ, the Holy Spirit resides within us, so God wants to have a strong and healthy dwelling place for himself within each of us (see 1 Corinthians 6:19-20). If we can trust in a navigation system to get us from Raleigh to Hollywood, how much more can we trust God, who spoke all things into existence, in helping us on our journey to a healthier lifestyle.

In short, when making changes to improve on your health or in any other area of your life one should: Have faith, take one step at a time, and trust God every step of the way.

Don't be a couch potato - personal training at Transformation in Raleigh

It is said that the average American watches 4 hours of TV per day! That is astounding! When is the last time that a television show changed your life for the better? The TV can be a huge distraction and can hinder your progress and dreams in any area of life. If you want to stay on track, avoid the TV during times when you could be exercising or being more active. Hiding the remote control, unplugging the TV, or even putting the TV in the closet can help lessen the possibility of avoiding your exercise, eating foods, and watching hours of TV instead. The fewer distractions and temptations in your home and surroundings, the better your chances are of reaching your healthy goals.

So, to sum it up -

Don’t let the TV (or anything else for that matter) keep your health and wellness dreams from becoming reality.
